Overview:
An established engineering firm is seeking a Commissioning Engineer / Manager to take charge of the end-to-end commissioning scope for large-scale data center projects.
The role will oversee all testing, validation, and handover processes to ensure systems operate safely, efficiently, and in line with design intent and client requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage commissioning works across electrical, mechanical, and control systems. - Develop and implement commissioning plans, test procedures, and integrated systems testing (IST) protocols. - Coordinate closely with design, construction, and operations teams to align schedules and ensure readiness for handover. - Supervise subcontractors and vendors during system testing, ensuring compliance with technical and safety standards. - Review and validate commissioning documentation, reports, and sign-off records. - Track and report progress, highlight potential risks or delays, and recommend corrective actions. - Ensure all systems achieve functional performance and meet operational acceptance criteria. - Support troubleshooting, performance testing, and client witnessing during final stages.
Requirements:
- Degree or Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, or Building Services Engineering. - Relevant commissioning experience, ideally within data center or mission-critical environments. - Strong technical understanding of M&E systems such as HV/LV, UPS, generators, chilled water, CRAC/CRAH, BMS, and fire protection. Prior exposure to hyperscale or colocation data center projects.
